Salt Lake City's public transit corridors are scarce when it comes to surrounding residential development. That has slowly been changing over the last decade or so, and has dramatically increased over the last few years. The apartments known as 4th West will add significantly to Salt Lake City's housing stock, and is located directly next to both a commuter-rail and light-rail station as apart of the Hardware Village development. 4th West is divided into two areas, the East and West Villages, and has a combined 957 residential units, all at market rate. Luxury apartments have long been absent from Salt Lake's housing stock, but as workers from other, more expensive markets flock to Utah, that is sure to change.
