Located on the edge of the Central Business District, this development led by Seattle based Timberlane Partners will begin construction Spring 2017. Plans include six stories of residential, a top a two level parking garage. The building will include ground floor retail and be built out to street level, something City officials have pushed for in recent developments downtown. Situated on a rather small parcel, Timberlane plans to add 137 units, and will consist of studio's,one and two bedrooms. This isn't the first investment Timberlane has made in Salt Lake City, they also own The Mercer, Essex, and The Worthington. Businesses located in buildings now owned by Timberlane have voiced concern over the rapid increase in rent. They claim local business will not be able to manage if rents continue to increase. With more and more out-of-state developers capitalizing on Salt Lake City's low cost of doing business, it is imperative we maintain the affordability that Salt Lake has become known for.
